Thursday, July 10 at 7 pm, Holly Would Dream Book Signing with South 'n France: Join us at Barnes & Noble in the Mayfaire Shopping Center for a special celebrity book signing with New York City author Karen Quinn. Karen debuts her 3rd book, guaranteed to be the best beach read of the summer! It's a funny, romantic, and absolutely charming tale (just like the classic Audrey Hepburn movies it is based on). The heroine, Audrey Hepburn-obsessed Holly Ross, is a fashion historian who tries desperately to transcend her background and make it in Manhattan (Breakfast at Tiffany's). She meets a dashing tycoon after his car splashes her in the rain on the way to work (That Touch of Mink). Later, Holly takes a luxury cruise and falls for a man who is engaged to someone else (An Affair to Remember).

During a hilarious press conference scene in the novel, the media is treated to “obscenely luscious bonbons from South ’n France, the finest chocolatier in the country.” We're thrilled to be mentioned in Karen's book, so you better believe that we'll be at her Wilmington book signing with bon bons in tow and special prizes for all those who come dressed like the legendary Audrey Hepburn!

Monday, July 14, Bastille Day: Much like Marie Antoinette, Charlene is losing her head over Bastille Day! Will we party on the Wilmington Waterfront? Will we invite you to storm our kitchen instead of the Bastille? (But please leave your torches and guillotines at home). For Bastille Day, South and France are currently duking it out. Monday, August 4th, International Champagne Day:There are all sorts of silly special "days" in August like: National Ice Cream Sandwich Day (August 2nd); Wiggle Your Toes Day (August 6th), which is incidentally also Root Beer Float Day; S'Mores Day (August 10th); Bad Poetry Day (August 18th); National Spongecake Day (August 23rd); and our favorite, Kiss-And-Make-Up Day (August 25th). But there is one day, Champagne Day, that has a real history, dating all the way back to 1693. It's the day a monk named Dom Perignon produced his first champagne, in France. Legend has it that upon tasting this delicious sparkling creation he shouted—"Come quickly, I am drinking the stars!" We couldn't agree more; drinking champagne "stars" while eating our hand-dipped chocolate bon bons is guaranteed to send you over the moon!
