Your VIP Invitation to Dinner and a Movie...South ‘n France Style!

French dinner, French movies and gourmet chocolate event It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for: Dinner and Movie: The Sequel! Our first South ‘n France Dinner and a Movie Series was a sell-out success, so we’re back by popular demand. For five wonderful nights: June 10-14, Pascal is dusting off his chef’s hat to create unforgettable 5-course French meals to demonstrate the art of French dining. You’ll get to sample his work while watching a French-themed film.

Here’s How it Works:
This is a private, advance-reservation-only event that we are making available to a select group of our local clients and their guests.

Choose the evening (dates listed below) that appeals to you and call us (910.762.6882) to pre-pay and reserve your spot. All-inclusive cost for this special event is just $50 per person; we’ll teach you the fine art of enjoying a 5-course French meal while you enjoy a French film (we'll provide the culturally specific insider commentary!)

Seats are limited to 14 people per night, and these events book quickly, so be sure to place your reservation early! Because of the limited nature of this offer, reservations are non-refundable, but can be transferred to an individual of your choosing.

Here Are the Details:
Each evening will consist of a 5-course French meal: Appetizer, Main Course, Salad, Cheese Plate, and Dessert. Menus are designed to complement themes from the evening’s selected movie. We will also offer a carafe of House Red Wine, House White Wine, and water. Or, bring your own wine, and we'll serve it for you!

Pascal and Charlene will set the stage for each movie, explaining its cultural significance and interesting things to watch for. Mid-film, we’ll pause for a brief 5-minute break followed by a Q&A session at the end of the film where you can take advantage of our language and cultural expertise!

Once again, the creative minds behind Pixar have created enchantment...possibly their best film in years. Everyone loves Ratatouille...even though he is a rat in the kitchen. Our hero is Remy, is a simple rat with an cultivated palate. His idol is a great French chef who lectures on the Food Channel. "Anyone Can Cook" is his mantra. So when Remy and his rat family have to leave their homes, Remy accidentally ends up in the very kitchen of this great Chef. Alas, the great chef has passed away, and the food standards are falling, as well as the Michelin stars. To reverse this trend, Remy - the rat - teams up with a clueless scullery boy in the kitchen to whip up some wonderful recipes. Indeed, the rat's food creations are a hit with the customers. The problem, as in all stories that play on the Cyrano de Begerac theme, is that no one knows who is really behind those wonderful recipes. Everything about this film is wonderful...the French kitchen and the streets of Paris are recreated in rich colors and exquisite detail-even the French copper pots look authentic.

Watch The Dinner Game with South 'n France Evenings Four and Five: Friday, June 13th and Saturday, June 14th
6:30 to 9:00 pm

Film:
The Dinner Game (Le Diner de Cons) 1998 - in French with English subtitles

Featured Menu Items:
Enjoy spectacular goat cheese souffle at South 'n France with Dinner and a Movie -Meat-Stuffed Tomatoes (Tomates Farcie) with Carmelized Onion
-Goat Cheese Souffle
-Banana-Coconut Creme Cake

Our favorite French comedy! Laughter is the “plat du jour” on this evening when the creator of La Cage Aux Folles serves up comic feast. In English, the title of Francis Veber's movie sounds disappointingly polite; the original French title, "Le Dîner de Cons," is much ruder and certainly closer to the misanthropic spirit of this hilarious farce. Every Wednesday, a bunch of smart young Parisians hold a dinner, to which each of them must invite a complete idiot. In this case, wealthy editor Pierre Brochant is delighted with his latest catch, a complete buffoon whose principal talent is for making models out of matchsticks. When Pierre decided to play a game to see who could bring the biggest idiot to a dinner party he never imagined he'd be the one playing the fool. Note: lots of adult language in this film.
